Where the madrasah wins

Community. Children make Muslim friends, attend the mosque, and feel part of something bigger. That is valuable and hard to replace online.

Where online classes win

Attention and pace. In a group of 20, a child may read aloud for only a few minutes per session. In a one-to-one class, they recite for most of the lesson and every mistake is corrected.

Fit around family life. No driving across town on a winter evening, and lessons can be moved around exams, sports and holidays.

Choice of teacher. You can request a male or female teacher, and change teacher if the fit isn't right.

Many families do both

A common pattern: the mosque for community and Islamic studies at the weekend, and two or three short online classes a week for Quran reading and Tajweed.
