How to Prepare for Your First Online Quran Class

September 24, 20262 min readBy Nouf Quran Academy

Online lessons work beautifully when the basics are right. Ten minutes of preparation saves a lot of frustration.

Checklist

  • Device: a laptop or tablet is better than a phone — the teacher can show text clearly.
  • Headphones with a microphone: the teacher needs to hear subtle sounds like the difference between ح and ه.
  • Stable internet: sit close to the router or use a wired connection if possible.
  • Quiet space: away from the TV and siblings.
  • Good light: facing a window or lamp so the teacher can see mouth movements.
  • Mushaf or Qaida: have your book open, or use the teacher's shared screen.

For children

  • Use the toilet and have water before the lesson.
  • Keep toys and other screens out of reach.
  • Sit at a table, not on a sofa or bed.
  • Parents nearby, especially for younger children.

Test the link in advance

Open the lesson link 5 minutes early to check sound and camera. If something fails, message the academy immediately.

Adab (etiquette)

Many families make wudu before the lesson and dress respectfully. It sets the tone that this is special time with the Quran.

After the lesson

Write down what to practise. Five minutes of practice before the next lesson makes a huge difference — see our daily 15-minute routine.
