Online Quran Classes Across US Time Zones: Finding the Right Slot

The continental United States spans four main time zones, and many online Quran teachers are based overseas. Getting the timing right is the difference between a routine that lasts and one that falls apart in a month.

Know your window

• Eastern (ET): after-school slots from about 3:30 pm; adult evening slots up to 9–10 pm.
• Central (CT): similar local times, one hour behind Eastern.
• Mountain (MT): two hours behind Eastern.
• Pacific (PT): three hours behind Eastern; early-morning slots before school also work well.

Always book in your local time

Ask your academy to confirm lesson times in your time zone, not theirs. A good provider shows times as "5:00 pm ET", not "10:00 pm PKT".

Watch the daylight saving switch

Most of the US changes clocks in March and November, while many other countries change on different dates or not at all. For a week or two, lesson times can shift if the academy doesn't adjust. Confirm the time in writing whenever the clocks change.

Pick slots by energy, not just availability

• Young children: right after school snack, not right before bed.
• Teens: after homework but before late-night screen time.
• Adults: early morning or after the kids are asleep.
